3 consecutive even integers adds up to 12

So, Let the numbers are :

x,x+2,x+4

so, the sum of the numbers = 12

\begin{gathered} x+(x+2)+(x+4)=12 \\ x+x+2+x+4=12 \\ 3x+6=12 \\ 3x=12-6 \\ 3x=6 \\ x=(6)/(3) \\ \\ x=2 \end{gathered}

so, the numbers are : 2 , 4 and 6

So, the greatest number = 6
