The given equations are

y - 2 = 3x

y = 3x + 2

Considering the first equation, if we add 2 to both sides of the equation, it becomes

y - 2 + 2 = 3x + 2

y = 3x + 2

This means that the first and second equations are the same. If we plot them on the graph, the lines will overlap. Thus, for as many values of x on the line, there would be corresponding values of y. Therefore, we have infinitely many solutions
