A number cube is rolled three times. An outcome is represented by astring of the sort OEE (meaning an odd number on the first roll, an evennumber on the second roll, and an even number on the third roll). The 8outcomes are listed in the table below. Note that each outcome has thesame probability. For each of the three events in the table, check the outcome(s) that arecontained in the event. Then, in the last column, enter the probability ofthe event.

There are 8 possible outcomes, so the probability of each one is 1/8

Then, for each event, if for example we check 3 options, the probability will be 3 times 1/8, that is, 3/8.

So let's analyse each event:

A: Even number on the second roll

The possible outcomes are:

OEO, OEE, EEO, EEE.

Probability: 4/8 = 1/2

B: No odd numbers in position 2 and 3

The possible outcomes are:

OEE, EEE

Probability: 2/8 = 1/4

C: More odd numbers than even numbers

Possible outcomes:

OOE, OEO, EOO, OOO

Probability: 4/8 = 1/2
