We want to know whether the numbers 8, -4, -5 and 2 are solutions of the inequality:

-34>8x-2

We will solve the inequality, and then we will find if each one of the values are solutions. For doing so, we will clear out the variable x.

\begin{gathered} -34+2>8x \\ -32>8x \\ -(32)/(8)>x \\ -4>x \end{gathered}

This means that all the values less than -4 are solutions of the inequality.

Thus: 8, -4 and 2 are NOT solutions, but -5 is a solution.
