Step 1

Given;

\begin{gathered} \text{Total number of students = 75} \\ (3)/(5)of\text{ the total = Science major students} \end{gathered}

Required; To find how many students are not science majors

Step 2

Find the number of science major students

(3)/(5)*75=45\text{ science major students}

Step 3

Find the number of students who are not science majors

\begin{gathered} \text{Total number of students = science majors + non-science majors} \\ 75=45\text{ + non-science majors} \\ \text{non}-\text{science majors=75-45=30 non-science major students} \end{gathered}

Hence, there are 30 students who did not major in science.
