Given:

An apothem, h=8.0 yd.

The perimeter of the octagon is 52.8yd.

To find the area of the octagon:

Since it is a regular octagon, each side must be equal in length.

So,

\begin{gathered} 8a=52.8 \\ a=6.6\text{ yd} \end{gathered}

The side of the octagon is 6.6 yd.

The area of the octagon is,

\begin{gathered} =8* Area\text{ of the triangle} \\ =8*(1)/(2)* b* h \\ =4* b* h \\ =4*6.6*8 \\ =211.2\text{ square yd.} \end{gathered}

Hence, the area of the octagon is 211.2 square yd.
