What property justifies the equation:0.5(8.4-1.6)=0.5(8.5)-0.5(1.6?

∵ 0.5(8.4 - 1.6)

We have a number multiplied by the difference of two other numbers, then to solve we need to multiply the number by each number in the bracket

∴ 0.5(8.4 - 1.6) = 0.5(8.4) - 0.5(1.6)

That means we distribute the numbers in the brackets

Then the property is distributive
