Given :-

  • A linear equation in two variables , 3x + 6y = 24 .

To Find :-

  • The x and y intercept of the graph .

Solution :-

Given equation is ,

3x + 6y = 24

To find the y intercept set x = 0 , we have ,

3(0) +6y = 24

Simplify ,

6y = 24

Divide both sides by 6 ,

y = 4

Hence the y intercept is 4 .

Now again to find x intercept , set y = 0

3x +6(0)= 24

Simplify ,

3x = 24

Divide both sides by 3 ,

x = 8

Hence the x intercept is 8 .

Find the x - and y -intercepts of the graph of the linear equation 3x+6y=24 . The-example-1
