The area of the backyard is 1470 ft2 if the width is 35 feet then what is the length of the backyard

Assuming the backyard is a rectangle we know that this kind of figure has an area given by:


A=wl

Plugging the area and the width we have:


\begin{gathered} 1470=35l \\ l=(1470)/(35) \\ l=42 \end{gathered}

Therefore the length is 42 ft.
