x-y=-1

First we gonna calculate the value of the function when x have the same value that the given point x=2

Then in x - y = - 1

y=x+1

Then in x= 2

y=(2)+1=3

One of the point of the line is then: (2 , 3 )

Lets calculate the the x when y have the value of the given point y=1

Then in x - y = -1

x=-1+y

Then in y= 1

x=-1+1=0

Other point of the line is then: (0 , 1)

To determine the shortest distance from the given point to the line you take the coordinates in each axis and determine the distance as follow:

undefined
