Jerry owns 60% of the stock in a private company. There are 1600 shares in the entire company. How many shares does he own?

To find how many shares Jerry owns we can use the rule of three:


\begin{gathered} 1600\rightarrow100 \\ x\rightarrow60 \end{gathered}

then:


x=(60\cdot1600)/(100)=960

Therefore he owns 960 shares.
