The range of a function are the possible values it can output for a given domain. In this case the domain goes from -2 to 2, so the range will be delimited by the output of these values. We can find the range by finding the output of these.

\begin{gathered} f_1(-2)\text{ = }(1)/(-2)\text{ = -}(1)/(2) \\ f_2(2)\text{ = }(1)/(2)\text{ } \end{gathered}

They result in values that go from -1/2 to 1/2. So the range is:

-(1)/(2)\leq x\leq(1)/(2)
