-3x = -5y -8~~~....(i) \\\\6x -3y = -5 ~~......(ii)\\\\\text{Multiply equation (i) by 2 and do (i) + (ii):}\\\\2 \cdot (-3x) + 6x -3y = 2(-5y-8) + (-5)\\\\\implies -6x +6x -3y = -10y -16 -5 \\\\\implies -3y = -10y -21\\\\\implies -3y +10y =-21\\\\\implies 7y = -21 \\\\\implies y = -\frac{21} 7 = -3\\\\\text{Substitute}~y =-3~ \text{in equation (ii):} \\\\6x - 3(-3) = -5\\\\\implies 6x +9 = -5\\\\\implies 6x = -5 -9 = -14\\\\\implies x = -\frac{14}6 = - \frac{7}3\\

\text{Hence}~ (x,y) = \left(-\frac 73, -3 \right)
