Assuming that the radius is half the length of the square:

• lenght (l) = 6ft

,

• radius (r) = 3ft

Area of circle

\begin{gathered} A_c=\pi\cdot r^2=3.14\cdot(3)^2 \\ A_c=28.26 \end{gathered}

Area needed:

\begin{gathered} A_s=6^2=36 \\ A_T=36-28.26=7.74\approx8 \end{gathered}

Answer: 8ft^2
