The surface area of any rectangular prism is

S\mathrm{}A=2\lbrack l* w+l* h+w* h\rbrack

l is the length

w is the width

h is the height

Since the dimensions of the given rectangular prism are 2 ft, 3 ft, and 4 ft, let

l = 2 ft

w = 3 ft

h = 4 ft

Substitute them in the rule above

\begin{gathered} S\mathrm{}A=2\lbrack2*3+2*4+3*4\rbrack \\ S\mathrm{}A=2\lbrack6+8+12\rbrack \\ S\mathrm{}A=2\lbrack26\rbrack \\ S\mathrm{}A=52 \end{gathered}

The surface area of it is 52 square feet
