How can u tell if an equation is a direct variation and if so identifyca constant variation

To tell if a function is a direct variation, like:


y=k\cdot x

where k is a constant,

we have to verify two conditions:

- The center of coordinates, point (0,0) satisfies the relation.

- The slope or rate of change of the relation is constant.
