Given the quadratic equation

y=8x^2-2x+5

From

x=-(b)/(2a)
\begin{gathered} b=-2,a=8 \\ x=-\frac{(-2)_{}}{2(8)} \\ x=(2)/(16)=(1)/(8) \end{gathered}

To obtain y, substitute x in the quadratic equation

\begin{gathered} y=8((1)/(8))^2-2((1)/(8))+5 \\ y=8((1)/(64))-(1)/(4)+5 \\ y=(1)/(8)-(1)/(4)+5=(1-2+40)/(8) \\ y=(39)/(8) \end{gathered}

Hence, the vertex is (1/8 , 39/8)

Therefore ,

X= 1/8 or 0.125

Y= 39/8 or 4.875
