For this case we have the following points given:

x1 = 4, y1= -2

x2= 8, y2= -5

And we can find the slope m given by:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)=(-5+2)/(8-4)=(-3)/(4)

And then we can use the first point to find the intercept b like this:

-2 = -3/4 (4) +b

-2 = -3 +b

b= -2+3 = 1

And our equation would be given by:

y= -3/4 x+ 1
