The questions is to factor

x^2-11x+30

What we do with these trinomials is that, we factor them in the form:

(x-a)(x-b)

Where

"a" and "b" are two numbers

• when multiplied gives "30"

,

• when added gives "-11"

Now, we think about the two numbers, a and b.

So, we can say:

-6 and -5

added gives: -6 + -5 = -11

and

multiplied gives: (-6)(-5) = 30

Thus, our numbers are -6 and -5

So, factorizing:

(x-6)(x-5)
