f(x)=x-5

h(x)=3x-4

To find h(x)-f(x), simply replace the values:

h(x)-f(x)= (3x-4)-(x-5)

Distribute the negative sign in the second parenthesis:

h(x)-f(x)= 3x-4 -x+5

Add and subtract like terms:

h(x)-f(x)= 3x-x-4+5

h(x)-f(x)= 2x+1
