To answer this question we will use the following formula to compute the volume of a sphere:


Volume=(\pi diameter^3)/(6)

Recall that an exercise ball is a sphere, since it has a diameter of 60cm, then its volume is:


Volume=(\pi(60cm)^3)/(6)=(\pi *216000cm^3)/(6).

Simplifying the above result we get:


Volume=36000\pi cm^3.

Therefore we need 36000π cubic centimeters of air in order to fill the ball.
