6x+2y=12
\begin{gathered} x=-1 \\ y=2 \\ so\colon \\ 6(-1)+2(2)=12 \\ -12+4=12 \\ -8=12 \\ False \end{gathered}

x = -1 and y = 2 are not solutions for the equation.
