Step-by-step explanation:

-First we must convert the mixed number to fraction and then to decimal.

-Then we must formulate a rule of three mathematics to make the corresponding relation and know exactly how many scarves can be made.

The exercise is as follows:

\begin{gathered} 2(1)/(3)=(7)/(3)=2.3(for\text{ a scarf)} \\ \text{ } \\ 2.3yards\rightarrow1\text{ scarf} \\ 14yards\rightarrow x \\ (14*1)/(2.3)=(14)/(2.3)=6.0\text{ scarves} \\ \\ \text{ANSWER: }with\text{ }14\text{ yards }can\text{ be }done\text{ 6.0 scarves} \end{gathered}

IMPORTANT NOTE:

To convert a mixed number to a fraction you must do the following steps:

The whole number that accompanies the fraction must be multiplied by the denominator, then the result must be added to the numerator

Now to have a decimal number, you must divide the numerator by the denominator.
