Given the coordinates of the figure below,

\begin{gathered} (-8,3) \\ (-3,0) \\ (-7,0) \end{gathered}

Given that we are to translate the image by T(4,2),

To do that we are going to add 4 to the x-coordinates and 2 to the y-coordinates.

\begin{gathered} ((-8+4),(3+2))\rightarrow(-4,5) \\ ((-3+4),(3+2))\rightarrow(1,5) \\ ((-7+4),(0+2))\rightarrow(-3,2) \end{gathered}

Therefore, the new coordinates are:

\begin{gathered} (-4,5) \\ (1,5) \\ (-3,2) \end{gathered}

Let us now graph the new image,

Graph the image of the figure on the right under the given translation,T (4,2)(x,y-example-1
