We can calculate the slope of the line using the next formula

m=slope

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

where

(0,-6)=(x1,y1)

(1,-5)=(x2,y2)

we substitute the values on the equation

m=(-5+6)/(1-0)=(1)/(1)=1

the slope of the line is m=1

The equation of the line

y+6=1(x-0)

We need to clear y in order to obtain the slope-intercept form

y=x-6
