Square painting with 4 feet.

The cost to buy a frame will be equal to fin the perimeter of the square and multiply it for 2.87:

\begin{gathered} Perimeter=L+L+L+L \\ Perimeter=4+4+4+4=16\text{ ft} \end{gathered}

Therefore, the cost is:

\begin{gathered} TotalCost=Perimeter*costperfoot \\ TotalCost=16ft*2.87*(1)/(ft) \\ TotalCost=45.92 \end{gathered}

The answer is: The cost to buy a frame for the oainting is $45.92.
