A person rolls an 8-sided die twice where each side is labeled with a different even number from 2 to 16 and the result of the experiment is the sum of the numbers. If the event E is "the sum is less than 9," then find the set representing E. Give your answer as a set, e.g. {1,2,3}, and do not include E= in your answer.

Event is sum is less than nine.

The sides are numbered 2, 4, 6, 8 and so on, even numbers up to 16.

In order to the sum to be less than 9 we can have

2 + 6 = 8

6 + 2 = 8

2+ 4 = 6

4+2 = 6

In any other option the sum will be greater than 9.

The set will be: {26, 62, 24, 42}
