Let J be the amount of time Julie paints

G for Glene

and

N for Nicolai

They paint a total of 25 hours.

So we can expressed this total hours by :

J+G+N=25

Since Julie paints for 6 hours, J = 6

Glene for 8 hours, G = 8

Nicolai will be :

\begin{gathered} 6+8+N=25 \\ N=25-6-8 \\ N=11 \end{gathered}

To get the percentage of each person, divide their time to the total hours of work multiplied by 100 :

\%=\frac{\text{time}}{\text{total time}}*100

Answers :

For Nicolai :

\%=(11)/(25)*100=44\%

For Julie :

\%=(6)/(25)*100=24\%

For Glene :

\%=(8)/(25)*100=32\%

To check if the answers are correct, the sum of the percentages MUST BE equal to 100.

Checking :

44\%+24\%+32\%=100\%

Therefore, the answers are correct.
