Selena has 8 hits out of 20 times;

The probability that Selena hits at bat is;

\begin{gathered} Probability(S)=\frac{number\text{ of hits}}{total\text{ trial}} \\ \text{Probability(S)}=(8)/(20)=(2)/(5) \end{gathered}

Also, Tracey has 6 hits out of 16 times;

The probability that Tracey hits at bat is;

\begin{gathered} \text{Probability(T)}=\frac{number\text{ of hits}}{total\text{ trials}} \\ \text{Probability(T)=}(6)/(16)=(3)/(8) \end{gathered}

Thus, the probability of both girls getting a hit next time is;

\begin{gathered} \text{Probability ( S and T)= }(2)/(5)*(3)/(8) \\ \text{Probability ( S and T)= }(3)/(20) \end{gathered}

ANSWER: 3/20
