Solution:
DNA is made up of nucleotides, the nucleotide sequence produces the physical boundaries of genes. Genes contain the code or genetic information for each organism. Within the genetic code is the information necessary to produce proteins for the body. Now, in eukaryotes, DNA is packaged by proteins called histones, on the chromosomes. Chromosomes are found in the cell nucleus. In humans, there are 23 pairs of chromosomes.
On the other hand, in mitotic cell division, each daughter cell contains the same genetic information as the parent cell. This type of division is what occurs in somatic cells, while in the meiotic division, daughter cells (gametes) contain half of the genetic information of the mother cell. These will unite with another gamete to produce an embryo.
