We have

3(x+1)=2(x+1)

So we are going to multiply and simplify

\begin{gathered} 3(x+1)=2(x+1) \\ 3x+3=2x+2 \\ 3x+3-3=2x+2-3 \\ 3x+0=2x-1 \\ 3x-2x=2x-1-2x \\ x=0-1=-1 \end{gathered}

Then the answer is: x= - 1
