Please, could someone tell me about these 2 sentences below, if they are correct, and why?
1. Suddenly, I noticed that I was watching TV for 3 hours.
2. Suddenly, I noticed that I had been watching TV for 3 hours.

The second one is more correct than the first one.

Step-by-step explanation:

In the first sentence when you added ‘was’ it sounded off. The second sentence using ‘had been’ helps the reader have the proper sentence delivery. Sorry I’m trying to explain but it’s kinda hard.
