Use PEMDAS

P - parenthesis - this means do the parenthesis first

E - exponent - if there are no parenthesis or you have already done it do the exponent next

M - multiply - if there are no parenthesis, or exponent or you have already done them multiply or divide whichever comes first on the right of the number

D - divide ^

A - add - what I said for multiply also counts for this except it is adding and subtracting instead of multiplying and dividing

S - subtract ^
