PLEASE HELP

Alan sold t-shirts and hats at a festival. He made a $6 profit for each t-shirt he sold. He also made a profit of $54 from selling hats. If he made a total profit of $168, how many t-shirts did he sell?
(a) Write an equation that could be used to answer the question above. First, choose the appropriate form. Then, fill in the blanks with the numbers 6, 54, and 168. Let x represent the number of t-shirts.

(b) Solve the equation in part (a) to find the number of t-shirts.

Let x be the number of t-shirts Alan sold.

6x + 54 = 168

Swap the sides of the equation so that the unknown terms are on the left side of the equals sign (=) and all the other terms are on the other side. When moving a term to the other side, swap - with + and + with -.

6x = 168 - 54
6x = 114

Divide both sides by 6 to get x.

x = 19

A: Alan sold 19 t-shirts.
