How do I figure out the area and perimeter of these shapes and how do you figure out the unknown side? Q9

To work out the area or perimeter of any compound shape, split the shape so that you are left with regular shapes e.g. for 9b split the shape and you will get two rectangles

Then you can easily work the area/perimeter of the shapes you made and add them up
