Since it is given that two triangles are similar so

$\begin{gathered} (35)/(7x-9)=(14)/(2x+2) \\ (5)/(7x-9)=(2)/(2x+2) \\ 10x+10=14x-18 \\ 4x=28 \\ x=7 \end{gathered}$

So the correction option is (B)
