Zack’s Italian Pizza Bar baked 2,000 pizzas in the first year that they were open. In the second year, they baked 3,000 pizzas and in the third year 4,000 pizzas. Write a function that could model the growth of pizzas baked, where x = 0 is the first year.. Single line text.

We have a production of y=2,000 pizzas for the first year (x=0).

For the second year (x=1), y=3,000 and for the third year (x=2), 4,000.

We can verify if we have a constant rate of variation as:

\begin{gathered} m=(\Delta y)/(\Delta x)=(4000-3000)/(2-1)=(1000)/(1)=1000 \\ m=(\Delta y)/(\Delta x)=(3000-2000)/(1-0)=(1000)/(1)=1000 \end{gathered}

We have a constant slope and has a value of m=1,000.

The y-intercept of this line is the value of y when x=0, and in this case, by the given information, the y-intercept is 2,000.

So the y-intercept has a value b=2,000.

The equation of the line can be written as:

y=1000x+2000

Answer: y=1,000x+2,000
