The longest runaway has the shape of a rectangle and an area of 1,825,500 square feet this runaway is 150 feet wide how long is the runaway ?

We want to find the length of the runway given the area and the width.

We can us the formula;


\begin{gathered} \text{Area}=\text{ Length x Width} \\ \text{rearranged to give } \\ \text{Length = }\frac{Area}{\text{Width}} \end{gathered}

Inserting the values, we obtain;


\text{Length = }(1825500)/(150)=12170\text{feet}
