we have that

the equation that represents this situation is

87.00=55.50+0.35x

where

x is the number of local calls made above 50

solve for x

0.35x=87-55.50

0.35x=31.50

x=90

therefore

the total of local calls is equal to

90+50=140

the answer is 140 calls
