Step 1. Speed of the wolf.

The wolf can run 110m in 6.3s, to calculate the unit steep, we need to make the division between the meters and the seconds:

(110m)/(6.3s)

The result of this division is:

(110m)/(6.3s)=17.46\text{ m/s}

Rounding to the nearest whole unit:

Wolf\text{ sp}eed\longrightarrow\text{ 17m/s}

Step 2. Steep of the tiger.

The tiger can run 85m in 4.2s, again we divide the meters and the seconds to find the unit speed:

(85m)/(4.2s)=21.25\text{ m/s}

Rounding to the nearest whole unit:

\text{Tiger spe}ed\longrightarrow21\text{ m/s}

Step 3. Which one is faster?

Since the unit speed of the tiger is larger, 21m/s vs. 17m/s, the tiger is faster.

Answer:

Wolf speed? 17m/s

Tiger speed? 21m/s

Which one is faster? Tiger
