Given the equation the equation :

3\cdot(2y-1)=9

Divide both sides by 3:

\begin{gathered} (3(2y-1))/(3)=(9)/(3) \\ \\ 2y-1=3 \end{gathered}

Add 1 to both sides

\begin{gathered} 2y-1+1=3+1 \\ 2y=4 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 2:

\begin{gathered} (2y)/(2)=(4)/(2) \\ \\ y=2 \end{gathered}

So, the answer is y = 2
