Equations:

We need to solve the following equation:

1/2 ( 2x + 6 ) = 3x + 13

To eliminate the denominator, multiply both sides by 2:

2* 1/2 ( 2x + 6 ) = 2* (3x + 13)

Operate:

2x + 6 = 6x + 26

Move x's to the left and numbers to the right

2x - 6x = 26 - 6

Simplifying:

-4x = 20

Solving:

x = 20 / (-4) = -5

x = -5
