1. You need to remove the parenthesis, each term or symbol outside of the parenthesis affect each term inside the parenthesis:


\begin{gathered} =9x-(9\cdot4)+2x-14 \\ =9x-36+2x-14 \\ \end{gathered}

2. You add or substract similar terms:


=11x-50
