Question A:

-x + 2y = 16 y = mx + 8

Solving first equation for y:

2y = x + 16

y = (1/2)x + 16/2 = (1/2)x + 8

y = (1/2)x + 8

Answer:

m = 1/2

Because with this value of m, for any value of x, both equations will get the same value of y

Question B:

2x - y = 2 y = mx + 5

Solving first equation for y:

y = 2x - 2

Answer:

m = 2

Because with this value of m, both equations reperesent parallel lines, taht never cross each other, therefore there will be no solution

A) Infinetly Many solutions -x+2y=16y=Mx+8m=??B) No solutions 2x-y=2y=Mx+5m=?????-example-1
