We are given an equation;

4(x-3)=16

From the question, it was said that her first step taken is;

To expand. we have;

4x-12=16

Then her second step could be;

1. To add 12 to both sides.then we have;

4x-12+12=16+12

2. To subtract -12 from both sides. then we have;

4x-12-(-12)=16-(-12)

Both 1 and 2 are to eliminate the unlike term which is -12 from the right side of the equation.

3. Lastly, in a rare case we can first divide both sides by 4 or multiply both sides by 1/4, to reduce 4x to x. So we have;

\begin{gathered} (1)/(4).(4x+12)=16.(1)/(4) \\ To\text{ have;} \\ x+3=4 \end{gathered}

Therefore, 1,2 and 3 are correct
