Case 1, 2x+2y=6.60 x+y=3.30 ......1

Case 2, 4x+3y=11.70. .....2

1, x+y=3.30...×4

2, 4x+3y=11.70...×1

1, 4x+4y=13.20

2, 4x+3y=11.70

now, placing the value of y in equation 1,

x+y=3.30

x+1.50=3.30

x=1.80
