The perimeter of a semicircle is equal to half the circumference plus the diameter

P(\text{semicircle)}=(1)/(2)C+d

C is the circumference

d is the diameter

The rule of the circumference is

C=\pi* d

Since the diameter of the semicircle is 2 yards

d = 2

Since pi = 3.14, then

By using the rule of the perimeter above

\begin{gathered} P=(1)/(2)*3.14*2+2 \\ P=3.14+2 \\ P=5.14\text{ yards} \end{gathered}

The perimeter of the semicircle is 5.14 yards
