(5)/(7)x+4=8

To solve this, first we have to substract 4 in both sides of the equation:

(5)/(7)x+4-4=8-4

And now we have

(5)/(7)x=4

And now we multiply by 7/5 both sides (or divide by 5/7, it's the same in other words)

(5)/(7)\cdot(7)/(5)x=4(7)/(5)

Then we have:

x=(28)/(5)=5.6

The answer is x = 5.6
