y = mx + b
y = 2x + 7

m = slope = rise / run

m is found by using one random point and seeing how far up the next point is vertically (rise) and horizontally (run). In this case 2/1 which is just 2

And b = y-intercept, where the line touches the y-axis. In this graph it happens at 7
