Algebra
The quotient of -20 and a number can be written as a division or a fraction. To solve equations, it's best-written as a fraction:
![-(20)/(x)](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/oiaz0rm6sqjk6qi9mp8ifspkkxzf4hf90j.png)
Where x is 'the number', in this case, an unknown quantity
Similarly, the quotient of 4 and a number is:
![(4)/(x)](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/high-school/ay480kj6bt28mdwug0pyms45270ojujxm3.png)
We're assuming it's the same number as before.
Now we have to connect them with the plus sign because we have to increase. Thus, the final expression is:
![-(20)/(x)+(4)/(x)](https://img.qammunity.org/2023/formulas/mathematics/college/rq4nzphf2dhvo1kl34k8y8qz0l1izcfn0h.png)
